These non-parametric resampling techniques and their numerous extensions and improvements are capable of producing high quality natural textures very efficiently. However, they do not define an actual model for natural textures but rather give a mechanistic procedure for how one can randomise a source texture without changing its perceptual properties. In contrast, the second approach to texture synthesis is to explicitly define a parametric texture model.
The model usually consists of a set of statistical measurements that are taken over the spatial extent of the image.

In the model, a texture is uniquely defined by the outcome of those measurements and every image that produces the same outcome should be perceived as the same texture.

If the algorithm takes into account exclusively the graphs to be matched, the optimal solutions will be the same since the graph pair is the same in both cases.
This is how graph matching is approached today. In this paper, we address what we believe to be a limitation of this approach. From Shi and Malik, There are two aspects to be considered here.

Some of it is low level, such as coherence of brightness, color, texture, or motion, but equally important is mid - or high - level knowledge about symmetries of objects or object models. The second aspect is that the partitioning is inherently hierarchical.
Therefore, it is more appropriate to think of returning a tree structure corresponding to a hierarchical partition instead of a single flat partition. This suggests that image segmentation based on low - level cues cannot and should not aim to produce a complete final correct segmentation. The objective should instead be to use the low - level coherence of brightness, color, texture, or motion attributes to sequentially come up with hierarchical partitions.
Mid - and high - level knowledge can be used to either confirm these groups or select some for further attention. This attention could result in further repartitioning or grouping. It has three main properties: 1 Unordered: Unlike pixel arrays in images or voxel arrays in volumetric grids, point cloud is a set of points without specific order.
In other words, a network that consumes N 3D point sets needs to be invariant to N! It means that points are not isolated, and neighboring points form a meaningful subset. Therefore, the model needs to be able to capture local structures from nearby points, and the combinatorial interactions among local structures.
For example, rotating and translating points all together should not modify the global point cloud category nor the segmentation of the points.

And of course, things get much harder when the camera is not stationary. Taking the whole image would be too large an input for the net, and it would have to do a lot of work before it could even find out where the eyes are. This might be fine in a model that we train offline and deploy on a server, but to be trained and used in the browser, this would be too daunting a task.

It will re-run itself at each frame. Refresh your browser. Your face should get a funny green mask in the video. Sometimes you have to move around a bit for it to capture your face correctly.
Luckily, cmltracker gives us the location of not only the face, but of 70 facial features. We need another canvas to capture this cropped image before we can use it. It can simply be set to 50x25 pixels. A little bit of deformation is okay. This function will return the x, y coordinates and width and height of the rectangle surrounding the eyes.

In this work we study appearance-based gaze estimation in the wild. Our dataset is significantly more variable than existing ones with respect to appearance and illumination. We also present a method for in-the-wild appearance-based gaze estimation using multimodal convolutional neural networks that significantly outperforms state-of-the art methods in the most challenging cross-dataset evaluation. We present an extensive evaluation of several state-of-the-art image-based gaze estimation algorithms on three current datasets, including our own.

Every 10 minutes the software automatically asked participants to look at a random sequence of 20 on-screen positions a recording sessionvisualized as a grey circle shrinking in size and with a white dot in the middle.
Participants were asked to fixate on these dots and confirm each by pressing the spacebar once the circle was about to disappear. This was to ensure participants concentrated on the task and fixated exactly at the intended on-screen positions.
No other instructions were given to them, in particular no constraints as to how and where to use their laptops. We collected a total ofimages from 15 participants. The number of images collected by each participant varied from 34, to 1, Some figures with representative samples at the top. The dataset contains three parts: "Data'', "Evaluation Subset'' and "Annotation subset''.
The "Data'' folder includes "Original'' and "Normalized'' for all the 15 participants. You can also find the 6 points-based face model we used in this dataset. The "Original'' folders are the cropped eye rectangle images with the detection results based on face detector  and facial landmark detector .
